New Delhi, January 21 The High Judicial Elections Commission (HJEC) of Egypt has announced in Cairo the final results for the Egyptian People’s Assembly elections, which lasted 55 days and witnessed outstanding, positive participation by the Egyptian people.

According to HJEC final results, Al Horreya Wal Adala (Freedom and Justice Party), together with the Democratic Alliance, won 235 out of 498 total seats, i.e. 47.2% of the total seats in parliament---127 seats in the party ‘lists’ and 108 for the ‘individual’ seats.

Al Horreya Wal Adala, in a statement, said that this Parliament, which will begin its first session on the 23rd of January 2012, was the best celebration of the Egyptian Revolution, which was approaching its first anniversary, and which has achieved some of its goals and demands and was still waiting to achieve more.
