New Delhi, December 22 All India Milli Council (AIMC) has raised questions over Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Gadkari’s recent visit to Israel. In a statement, AIMC General Secretary Dr Manzoor Alam said although Gadkari had tried to link his visit to Israel with a model of development, the truth behind the curtain seemed to be otherwise.
Dr Alam queried whether his recent visit was not for providing relief to the Hindutva elements being found involved time and again in the terror-related activities in the country?
He said the question in this connection arose due to the fact that whatsoever terrorist acts were rendered by these elements for the last few years its strategy was the same adopted by Israel against the Palestinians.
He averred as a few honest officers of the intelligence had exposed the Hindutva elements while performing their duty, BJP had come in an embarrass position, and so its chief went to Israel to find ways to come out of the tangle. He said the question whether his recent trip was not to get a new formula from Israel to entrap the Muslims in India, was also not less important?
The AIMC General Secretary said that no body could deny the fact that the full Indo-Israel relations were established on January 29, 1992 during the regime of late P V Narasimha Rao after ignoring India and the Father of the Nation Gandhiji’s standpoints on the issue and since then agreements on dozens of issues had already been made.
According to him, this country came closer to Israel following Atal Behari Vajpayee’s coming to power in 1998. The BJP continued its ties with Israel even after ouster of Vajpayee government. And its several leaders, including Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and L K Advani, visited there, he said.
Dr Manzoor Alam said not only this, both the official and unofficial delegations from Israel remained in contact with the BJP leaders and from this point of view, the visit of the BJP chief seemed to be a part of the big game.
On this occasion, Dr Alam also said that the government should act seriously upon the reports of involvement of the Hindutva elements in the bomb-blast cases in different parts of the country in the recent past so that the detention and harassment of innocent Muslim youth on the basis of just apprehensions should stop and they could get justice.
